Fishing report 6/30/2026

By June 30, 2026Fishing Reports

The world famous Buoy 10 fishery is just a short 4 weeks away! It’s going to be another great year for catching lots of Fall Chinook and Coho/silver Salmon!  Our Fall Salmon run predictions are similar to slightly higher than last year which was phenomenal fishing all through October.

Buoy 10 is a fishery that is well known as the “superbowl” of the fishing season here in the Pacific Northwest. It is located in Astoria Oregon where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. Every Fall Chinook and Coho Salmon enter the river here where they begin their journey back to the waters they were born into. The sheer volume of fish is what makes fishing so great there.

This year, the first 9 days of opening which is on August 1st, anglers get to retain any Chinook, hatchery or wild. After the 9th, it will be hatchery only Chinook until the 26th of August. During that time frame between the 9th and the 26th we will catch tons of fish but some will have to be released which makes the day even more fun.

Not only is the fishing great, but the town of Astoria Oregon is a really cool place too! Astoria is rich in history and has lots of things to do within it.  Just across the river is Long beach Washington which also has a variety of really cool state parks and visitor centers.

I have some really great dates available for Astoria still but they won’t last a whole lot longer. Now is the time to book a day for the upcoming Fall Salmon season. See you on the water!
